The Damned United

Muhammad Ali on TV : Clough, I’ve had enough, stop it!

Peter Taylor : Are you gonna stop it?

Brian Clough : No, I’m gonna fight him.

WAHAHA!! It was so damned good! I didn’t know what to expect at first, didn’t even know what the movie was about. Then… Oh, a football film, should be good. Never quite liked football in reality, all the speculations on why certain games are like that. Then again fictional movies don’t exactly serve as an antidote to that.. Have loved Goal! but this is nothing like that. It’s so much better. A British film, at first I thought wow this is kinda like Frost/Nixon,

frost_nixon_poster-1which I loved, loved, loved, then I found out the male lead was David Frost, so that’s why I sat through this like I did with Frost/Nixon too. He’s too charming!! Michael Sheen WOOT! He’ll be in New Moon as Aro too.

Maybe it’s the London accent or the dry humour that made me sit through the whole movie but it was just so good!

These are the movies that don’t get much buzz around here I think? Like Hot Fuzz which I’ve watched more than 5 times and thinking I was weird for perhaps being the only one watching it so many times. Then found out that it scored a whopping 90% on Rotten Tomatoes but who’s counting eh?

All of movies above are all about bromance sort of stuff which is maybe another reason to like it.

It’s the thing photographers tend to do I suppose, couldn’t resist taking screenshots of that beautiful Brighton as opposed to the gloomy Leeds and Derby..

And it was set in 1970s! Loving that time!

Although it was good but Frost/Nixon and The Damned United wouldn’t be watched another time anytime soon because it was good the first time already, I’ll save it for later :)

Don’t really want to ruin it by watching too many times or maybe I will.

:D
